Given that our First lady appears in this post by a nigerian author, i thought to post it here to illicit your opinion if any.

Ever since Jacqueline Kennedy stepped into the scene in 1961, the world has been fascinated with the fashions and happening of First Ladies, the hoopla of first wives fashion gradually vanished into oblivion with the introduction of the generic skirt and pant suits (dont need to mention any names here). Fast forward to 2008...when the Mrs Obama became more than a household name. Her fashion style resurrected the death of presidential fashion, and we couldn't resist or ignore her subtle, yet bold mix match of outfits. Wearing JCrew one day, and Alexander Wang the next, she single handedly inspired me to look into our "presidential faces of africa" and i need to say they are just wack with their guccis, versace and dior they still look like crap"money miss road"
Cameroon...oh sweet Cameroon!!!..need I say more about Chantal Biya, Cameroon First Lady. If you are trying to show your friends Africa is not always about Lions, then try not to google her.
No offense to Cameroonians, but none can deny that hair..I personally feel sorry for her neck carrying that much weight. Yes, she does make a statement, and not a good one. Her polka dotted outfit proves it, and more. And to think she is known for spending a lot of money on outfits. You cant help but notice where it goes. On the other note though, I am feeling her chanel bag, if only she didn't place it near that cow skin..err, i mean skirt.
Ms Chantal Compaoré, First lady of Burkina Faso is often seen wearing her countries native/ traditional wear. In my opinion, i think its a nice gesture of pride in ones country, but I particularly feel the outfit shown above is grossly outdated. The shoulder pads may be rearing its little ugly head on the runway, no doubt but never over done as seen here. This look I must say belongs in another decade....let the 80's go.
Gabon's First lady, is an example of the very subtle and forgetable style. Although, here her oufit is neatly color coordinated and not overdone..(Note.. An overdone outfit makes an expensive outfit look poorly cheap). Maybe Chantal Biya needs to learn a thing or two from her.
Lets face it, Senegal's first lady is old. Although she doesn't push the now limitless boundaries women her age push in fashion, she opts for a casual age apropriate look here. My Verdict, a passing grade but there is room, actually a mansion full of improvement
This hot village mess, does not represent the beautiful coast of Ivory (Ivory Coast, for those dum dums). She is in desperate need for a make over and I hope her husband includes her in their country's budget plan, because that thing she calls an outfit isn't working, and has never worked.
What ever happened to the days Maryam Babaginda..(I'm only talking fashion here..before you rant about politics). This total disgrace is an epic fail when it comes to fashion. Hey, just like her husband's rule. No direction in fashion here, she needs to do a self redefination of what fashion really is and how it affects a woman holding such position. She is supposed to represent Nigeria, and boy, does she make me shake in disgust. Classic case on fashion effect of sharia law
I'm not going to talk much of her outfit here, as it's a nice put together yellow skirt suit. The problem here is that this woman, Kenya's first lady is very Wor Wor...I'm sorry but she looks like a man ape and looking at her face with that of her husband, I hate to see what their kids look like.
Zimbabwe's First lady might have witnessed the killing of zebras, but it does not warrant her the go ahead to pair red with zebra print. I wonder who looks more of an animal her or Mugabe or a zebra
First Lady of Gambia - I am digging everything this beautiful woman presents. She represents her country fabulously. Her outfit doesn't overshadow her, but rather compliments her. She simply looks good. No hating on her here. By the way I love her Christian Dior purse. Proof that African women love labels - "label whores"
Mali should just remain unknown as it normally is, because this nonsense on Madame Touré Lobbo face is hideous. That chola (look it up) she calls an eyebrow is a disgrace to her national constitution and is black lip liner reigning in Mali?...what a sad shame..well, that scraps my visit to mali
Kudos to Liberia for electing the first female president, but that is where the praises stop. If Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is fit to run a country then she is clearly fit to know a good outfit from totally hideous
