Uganda's main opposition party has accused President Yoweri Museveni of preparing his son to succeed him. The president's son, Lt Col Kainerugaba Muhoozi, who already commands a special forces unit, has now been given control of the elite presidential guard. "He's making the Ugandan presidency a monarchical affair and is clearly anointing his son to succeed him," said opposition spokesman Hussein Kyanjo. Several of Mr Museveni's relatives hold senior positions in his administration. |

Bangangte (Nde) - Hon Ketcha Jean CPDM Member of Parliament for Nde, has told the youths of Upper Nkam and motor bike riders in particular that President Paul Biya needs their cooperation and contributions to achieve his grand ambition policy. He was Speaking in Bafang on 3rd February where he shared out 1200 helmets and 1200 Spur Jackets to some Cameroonian youths in the Division who are involved in motor cycle business.
Hon Ketcha Jean who was in Bafang on his second lap of free helmets distribution to motor bike riders, weeks after Bafoussam, where he launched the “Operation 100.000 helmets” told hundreds of youths who gathered at the Bafang ceremonial ground that, the spur jackets and helmets he was distributing to youths was his symbolic gesture design to help eradicate poverty and promote economic growth and social development in the motorbike sector.

Some international music icons have added their voices to press for the liberation of Lapiro de Mbanga after that of civil society organisations.
Music stars of different horizons and nationality have put together an album of eleven tracks dedicated to Lapiro de Mbanga of Cameroon incarcerated since March 2008 in Kondengui prison shortly after the February 2008 social unrest. The authorities, it should be recalled, accused the legendary musician of fanning the February 2008 uprising flames by instigating youths to go on the streets.

The Minister of Finance, Essimi Menye, has disclosed that his ministry was under th grip of a gang of racketeers who have been defrauding the state of billions of francs yearly. He notified the fraudsters that their network has been uncovered and investigations by the Supreme State Control were going on. The minister was speaking at the close of this year's annual conference of the central and external services of his ministry that held from 19-21 January in Yaounde. |

Me Lydienne Eyoum dit avoir été autorisée par l’ex-Minefi à se faire payer ses honoraires sur les fonds recouvrés qu’elle retenait suite aux instructions du ministre délégué, Henri Engoulou.
Polycarpe Abah Abah a de nouveau été inculpé de détournement de deniers publics de l’ordre de
2,155 milliards en coaction avec Henri Engoulou, l’ex-ministre délégué chargé du budget, Me Lydienne Eyoum, avocate de l’Etat du Cameroun et Me Célestin Baleng, huissier de justice, le 21 janvier 2009. L’ex-ministre de l’Economie et des Finances (Minefi) qui, à l’occasion, a déféré à la convocation du juge d’instruction, David Donhoun, se trouve ainsi impliqué dans l’affaire Etat du Cameroun-liquidation Oncpb contre la Sgbc.
Selon le collectif de défense de M. Abah Abah, son inculpation se fonderait sur une déposition de Me Lydienne Eyoum lors de l’enquête préliminaire, alors qu’elle déférait, courant 2008, à une convocation du procureur de la République près le Tgi du Wouri. A l’époque, le parquet la sommait «de restituer le reliquat des causes de la saisie du 13 juillet 2004, sous peine de poursuites judiciaires du chef de l’abus de confiance aggravé». Selon le procureur de la République, Me Eyoum a indûment retenu 1,070 milliard Fcfa.
